Past events
As part of its vision to create awareness amongst doctors and paramedics, in private and public sectors, both in hospitals and industries, Lifeline regularly hosts and conducts conferences and workshops.
Some of the key ones are as listed below:
- MoVACon 2008: The 1st National Motor Vehicle Accident Conference in Ahmedabad in September 2008; 228 delegates; 41 faculties participated from all over the world.
- INTEM 2010: Lifeline Foundation conducted the 12th International Emergency Medicine Conference, the official conference of the Society of Emergency Medicine, India (SEMI) in Ahmedabad in November 2010; 337 delegates; 78 faculties participated from all over the world.
- EMCON 2011: Lifeline partnered the West Bengal Society of Emergency Medicine to host the 13th National Emergency Medicine Conference in Kolkata in November 2011; 400 delegates and 100 faculties participated from all over the world.
- EMSASIA 2014: Lifeline hosted the 3rd Asian Emergency Medical Services Conference, the official conference of the Asian EMS Council in Goa in October 2014; 390 delegates; 87 faculties participated from all over Asia.
- NiEMS2018: The 1st National Conference on Industrial Emergency Medical Services was organized in Ahmedabad in February 2018; 447 delegates; 85 faculties participated globally.
- NiEMS2020: The 2nd National Conference on Industrial Emergency Medical Services was organized in Ahmedabad in February 2020; 421 delegates; 67 faculties participated globally.
- MoVACon2020: The 2nd Motor Vehicle Accident Conference was organized in Ahmedabad in February 2020; 309 delegates; 52 faculties participated from across the globe.
- NiEMS2024:The 3rd National Industrial Emergency Medical Services Conference, NiEMS2024, the only conference globally that focuses on strengthening emergency medical services in Industries, was held from 16th to 18th of February 2024 at Ahmedabad.
NiEMS2024
NiEMS2024 is the 3rd edition of this conference; it was first conducted in 2018, and subsequently in 2020. NiEMS2024 comprised of 8 pre-conference workshops, on subjects like Industrial Toxicology, Industrial Burns, Trauma Care, Medical Director, Industrial Disaster Life Support, Occupational Safety, Industrial Accident Investigation and Basic Disaster Life Support. The conference was attended by 432 participants and 64 national and international faculties.
NiEMS2024 was partnered by key stakeholders that have significant stake in enforcement of health and safety of industrial officials like Director Industrial Safety and Health, Government of Gujarat, National Health Mission and Society for Emergency Medicine, India (SEMI). The conference was targeted at industrial stakeholders comprising industrial medical officers, their medical staff, fire and safety officials, decision makers in the human resource department, as well as the medical officials and fire officials working in government hospitals, which are also first responders to industrial emergencies and therefore one of the key stakeholders to having strengthened industrial EMS.
The focus of NiEMS2024 is ‘OH & EMS – Emerging Challenges’.

MoVACon2024
MoVACon2024, the 3rd National Motor Vehicle Accident Conference was organised by Lifeline Foundation from 14th to 16th of February 2024 at Ahmedabad. MoVACon is the only national conference on road safety that offers a platform for diverse stakeholders to deliberate on strategies for preventing, mitigating and responding to road traffic accidents effectively. Through MoVACon2024, we provided a platform to road safety stakeholders working in all 4 pillars of road safety – engineering, enforcement, education and emergency care to gather and deliberate on existing challenges and how various emerging initiatives and dynamics can be channelised to address them.
Going beyond just a conference, MoVACon2024 also became the first such event that had introduced two new workshops in road safety sector – a dedicated workshop for NGOs on Capacity building, in which we discussed how NGOs could focus on the 4 E’s and how they could source funds on 14th of March 2024, and a workshop for police officials on Forensic Investigations for Road Traffic Accidents, on 16th of February 2024.
MoVACon2024 was attended by 309 delegates representing individuals from various sectors such as, non-profit organisations, transport department officials, road builders, law enforcement authorities, HAZMAT experts, Government, EM physicians, corporate and CSR leaders from the field of road safety, automobile manufacturers, representatives of educational institutions furthering road safety and transporters.
